This single-edition digital artwork is based on an actual, physical U.S. Postage 3-cent stamp from 1870, bearing the image of George Washington, that I hold in my physical stamp collection.
This digital artwork began as a tree that was cut down and made into paper. The paper then became a postage stamp that was printed in 1870. That stamp was mailed somewhere in the world and disappeared for decades into a stamp collection. This NFT was minted 151 years later in 2021.
