Josh Byer – Faux Fauvist Artwork NFTs

Hello, my name is Josh Byer and I’m an artist who lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. I am writing today to introduce you to my artwork, in the hopes that you may find It worthy of curation.

My style is called Faux Fauvism. Recognized by Saatchi Art, MoMA San Francisco and ArtFinder, Faux Fauvism is a modern art movement founded in the study of pattern recognition. Artwork attempts to create a “cloudgazing” effect by exploring elements of visual cognition. Appearing seven times on the front page of Reddit, 800+ Faux Fauvist paintings have been completed to date – exhibiting internationally alongside the work of Matisse, Picasso, Dali, and The Group of Seven.

As a dedicated analog artist, I wish to represent a classical sensibility in this digitally dominant space. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

meta_matra – Daily Fantasia #1 Mangkok

Daily Fantasia interprets the interaction between real and digital appearances that are combined in one frame. The interaction creates a sense of mixture variation between both different objects to intrigue the feeling of an imaginary situation and mesmerizing contrast through real object photos and digital imaging.

The Mangkok (bowl) contains a moving digital texture that looks like liquid. It was put on the digital zone that looks similar to the texture inside the bowl but with a bigger scale.

V4w.enko – “512matrixesrecord-dp1115”

The sea of pixels in “color512x512x2” generates the animated visual shower of 1022x1022px as much. Matrix is passed to another color mode. The new pixel is generated with each new moment of time to the whole matrix. Two matrixes are combined in different scale and speed. The 512×512 pixels matrixes are generated with code of self-made custom algorithmic tool. The result is as much the visual flow of pixels of 512×512 visual matrix tiled and adopted to the 1022x1022px .gif file of 167 frames.

Eisen – 毛筆書　山紫水明

山紫水明とは「美しく清らかな自然の風景」という日本の四字熟語です。「太陽の光によって山が紫色に見え、川が美しく透 (す)き通って見える」ことを表します。 また、そうした自然の風景を「美しい」と感じることのできる心を表すこともあります。書家綱紀栄泉の直筆作品です。

The 4-character idiom animation system (Yojijukugo) “山紫水明 (Sanshisuimei)” depicts the beautiful and pure natural scenery of the purple mountains and the bright river as well as the aesthetic human mind to appreciate the landscape itself.

This NFT is a handwritten work by the calligrapher “Eisen Tsunanori” and minted by his son who manages a company that produces brush-style fonts.

The characters of the fonts are made of handwriting by Eisen Tsunanori, who continued to produce calligraphies over 50 years until he passed away in March 2022 at the age of 86. In his later life, the fonts were widely used in various media, including the anime “鬼滅の刃 / Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)”, and his fame is recognized not only in Japan but also among calligraphy lovers worldwide. To honor his achievement, his unpublished works are minted and spread to the world.

ArtfulAI – Hope for Ukraine

A poster in support of Ukraine that was created by an AI that clearly learned a thing or two from the great Shepard Fairey.

The poster features a prominent sunflower — the national flower of Ukraine. However, the true source of motivation for its use in this work is an incredibly badass Ukrainian woman who told Russian attackers that they were about to die and that they should put sunflower seeds in their pockets so that flowers would grow from their rotting corpses.

“You’re occupants. You’re fascists. What the fuck are you doing on our land with all these guns?

Take these seeds and put them in your pocket, so at least sunflowers will grow when you all die here.”

“Put the sunflower seeds in your pockets, please. You will die down here with the seeds. You came to my land.

Do you understand? You are occupiers. You are enemies.”

ca37_UNISSOGRAFF – 「真言声明交響曲/Shingon Shōmyō」for UGANDA/CAMBODIA/TOHOKU

An 8-frame (double-sided 4 frame) artwork sliding paper door, presented to the Mt Koya Ekoin Temple, a sacred site of the Buddhist Shingon sect. Inspired by the ideology of the Shingon sect and its central prayer for world peace, this is an exclusive contemporary Buddhist art-piece by Unissograff artist ca37.

Dainichi Nyorai, the principal deity of the Shingon Buddhist sect, illuminates the world of all those tormented by sin and poverty and conflict.
The central character perhaps resembles a dragon or a demon, and yet is also a symbol of our own spirit.
After all, flowers still bloom amongst such anguish and a sense of purity remains.

Paradise may be far away.
But does happiness blossom closer to us than we think?

“Shingon Shōmyō Symphony” is an artistic interpretation of its theme, the inspiriting sacred chants (“Shōmyō”) of the Shingon sect monks, “Mt Koya, Light of 1200 years”.

Masako Nunokawa – The waning moon

There is a kind of natural beauty that is appropriate to the circumstances of the moment. The dynamic of a full moon and high tide matched the uplifting emotions of my youth. Over time, however, the sad beauty of the receding tide and waning moon has come to resonate with me. The small boat floating on the quiet seashore at night is myself growing old and the old pier is the road I must take to get there. Growing old is sad, but it is not hopeless.
